The fable surrounding Lady Godiva has oddly enough set itself in our conscious. In the 11th century in Britain in an area called Coventry lived a baron and his wife. The baron was a rather cruel man, and imposed great taxes on the people of his land. His wife took exception to this, and pleaded for him to be merciful. The baron eventually agreed, on condition that his wife, Lady Godiva, would ride through the streets of Coventry naked. She persuaded all of the people of Coventry to stay indoors during her ride, and thus thwarted her husband. One man however did not stay indoors, and sneaked a peak at the famous naked lady. His name was Thomas, and hence we talk of peeping Tom’s to this day.
The symbols in WMS’s game Lady Godiva are sadly not all theme based. The base ones are from a deck of poker cards, which I guarantee Lady Godiva herself would definitely not recognise. Aside from them however we have other rather random symbols including bizarrely a kitten, a tiara, a rose, a pen and a scroll. WMS have not put a whole lot of effort into the historical accuracy of this slot. The Lady herself appears stacked on the reels, but in a side on profile so as to keep her modesty intact.
